John W. Boyd is an experienced entrepreneur responsible for the founding and growth of numerous enterprises across a wide array of industries.  His primary responsibilities are in the areas of strategic planning and investment analysis.  He has developed a keen ability to foresee future opportunities, trends and technologies and to locate and employ outstanding execution personnel. 

Having assisted developers with monetizing South Carolina Revitalization state income Tax Credits since 2009, in September 2013, Mr. Boyd founded Tax Credit Marketplace, LLC as a vehicle for matching Tax Credit investors with potential credit generating projects.  As of 2016, placing in excess of $27 million in South Carolina tax credits.

Currently, Mr. Boyd serves as Chairman of TIC Properties, LLC and its subsidiaries. Under his leadership, TIC Properties, LLC syndicated 34 properties with a syndicated value of more than 1 billion dollars.  TIC Properties Management, LLC currently manages more than 4 million square feet of office, retail and industrial properties on behalf of over 1,200 investors.  In 2009, TIC Properties Management, LLC rescued more than 50 distressed properties in the highly publicized DBSI bankruptcy.  During the recent financial crisis, TIC Properties Management, LLC negotiated dozens of modifications and been a party to over 100 loan assumptions.  TIC Properties Management, LLC also holds the coveted Accredited Management Organization (AMO) designation conferred by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

Mr. Boyd also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Turnkey Exchange, LLC whose subsidiaries include Banker Exchange, LLC a qualified intermediary founded in 2006 and BEX Properties, LLC.  Mr. Boyd assumed the role in January 2007, when Banker Exchange acquired the assets of Boyd Corporation.  At that time, Boyd Corporation was a 14 year old deferred exchange and intermediary firm Mr. Boyd acquired in 1992,   Prior to acquiring Boyd Corporation, Mr. Boyd had a private tax practice and worked as a retail investment broker with J. C. Bradford & Co.  Mr. Boyd started his career at Elliott, Davis & Company, a regional CPA firm. 

Between December 2004 and October 2011, Mr. Boyd was principally responsible for the assemblage of nine properties at the corner of Main Street and Washington Street in downtown Greenville, SC.  Mr. Boyd negotiated a development arrangement with Hughes Development for Greenville One, the largest private investment in downtown Greenville’s history with an estimated completion value in excess of $100 million.

Mr. Boyd is a graduate of Furman University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration-Accounting concentration.  He earned his CPA designation in February 1988, a designation he held until December 2005.  Mr. Boyd currently holds a South Carolina Real Estate Broker’s license and FINRA Series 7, 63, 24, and 27 licenses.

Mr. Workman brings over 25 years of experience in corporate risk management, operations, investment and portfolio development, marketing, information technology, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate sales and syndication. As the Chief Operating Officer for Tax Credit Marketplace, LLC, he oversees the internal operations and collaborates with the CEO to drive the overall business strategy and company objectives. He is currently serving as Manager of multiple SC Tax Credit Revitalization Funds for Tax Credit Marketplace and sources projects all over South Carolina for the fund to consider for investment.

In 2001, Mr. Workman worked alongside the CEO to launch TIC Properties, LLC, a firm specializing in acquiring and syndicating institutional grade real estate assets nationwide. From 2002 to 2008 TIC Properties, LLC syndicated more than $1 billion in assets to over 800 individual investors.  He assisted with the formation of TIC Properties Management, LLC in 2003, a firm created to manage the assets syndicated by TIC Properties. He was a key member of the executive team that was responsible for the DBSI acquisition in 2009, which doubled the company’s management portfolio to nearly 10 million square feet and invested equity into 155 commercial properties nationwide.  By 2012 Tic Properties Management, LLC operated regional offices in Chicago, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Fort Lauderdale, Kansas City, Dallas, and Los Angeles with an employee base of a hundred.      

Mr. Workman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993 from Clemson University in Financial Management, with a minor in Financial Institutions.  He currently holds a SC Real Estate license. He previously held FINRA licenses 7 and 63. He is a current member of Urban Land Institute.

Michael Wolf 

Michael Wolf is a co-founder and Vice President of Business Development for Tax Credit Marketplace, LLC. He is responsible for the direction and client growth of the company, focusing on creating and developing new relationships with developers, attorneys, CPAs, commercial brokers and investors for monetizing Tax Credit transactions.


Mr. Wolf previously served as a commercial banker for more than 15 years. During that time, he held positions with Wachovia and Synovus Banks in Georgia and South Carolina.  During his career, Mr. Wolf has been involved in business development and setting up financial structures of virtually every form of commercial real estate property.  He brings more than 15 years of banking experience to TCM.
